10 THINGS THAT YOU MAY DO DURING THE QUARANTINE PERIOD

Quarantine Period gave us a lot of time to explore things. The hobby that we've been wanting to try, binge-watch drama of our favorite actors or probably, just get the extra amount of sleep that we are deprived of due to our usual hectic schedule.

Since quarantine is not yet fully lifted, listed below are the things that we can do that will take away our boredom.

These are some things that we are doing in the past, something that we can enjoy at the present and something that will benefit our future.

1. Visit your old hobby
Probably we have an old hobby that we used to do when we were a child or when we were in our teenage years but due to the demand of our school project and heavy work schedules, we suddenly forgot to make time for our hobbies. It may be playing an instruments, scrapbooking, or writing poems. Since we are staying at home, it's good to look back and do those hobbies again to keep ourselves busy and at the same time, it will definitely make us remember who we were and what we are good at.

2. Declutter old stuff
We've been so busy that we have little time to fix our stuff and we tend to dump our things in one place. It's great that we finally have the time to clean our stuff whether our bedroom, closet and other storages that we have in our house. Who knows, maybe we can find things that we've been looking for a long time or the things that we no longer need. Dear, it's time to let go of the things in the past that don't spark joy anymore in our lives. ;) Try watching Marie Kondo and other organization ideas in youtube. Promise, it will be satisfying to watch and you'll gain inspiration for the transformation of your room.

3. Entertain Yourself
For sure, we are tired of hearing sad news everyday because of the pandemic. To make ourselves better, keeping ourselves entertained will be one of the best options. Entertainment in the form of video games, streaming movies on Netflix, doing Tiktok videos, binge-watching K-dramas and vlogs in Youtube. Here are some of my quarantine Korean drama recommendations:
- Itaewon Class (Drama)
- Hotel del Luna (Romance, Fantasy)
- Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (Romance, Comedy)
- Crash Landing on You (Drama, romance)
- Healer (Action, Drama)
- Pinocchio (Drama)
- Descendants of the Sun( Drama, Romance)
- Goblin ( Drama, Romance)
- Reply 1988 (Family, Comedy, Romance)
- Shopping King Louie ( Comedy, Romance)
- She Was Pretty  ( Comedy, Romance)

  4. Treat Yourself
All of us deserves a reward for working hard almost everyday on our goals. One simple way on treating ourselves is to buy our favorite brand of chocolates or ice cream or even try learning to make your favorite snack or drink online. This may sound that it is all about food but who doesn't love food anyway? Let food be your simple treat to yourself.  Also, take advantage of using food delivery apps, GrabFood, LalaFood, Foodpanda when craving a snack or drink from your favorite restaurant to be delivered at your doorsteps. Imagine, we helped the food delivery drivers to earn and our cravings are being satisfied so, it's definitely a win-win situation.

 5. Meditate
There will be a lot of things that we are deprived of such as our social needs. We can't go to our usual hangout spot or we can't even meet our friends for pep talk. Since most of us experienced stress from our daily hustle of work, meditation is very important. Meditate by listening to relaxing music or worship songs,  do breathing exercise or do a social media detox. Try workout exercises as it will boost our endorphins or so called "Happy Hormones". It may help us feel good and distract our minds from thinking negative thoughts.

6. Explore a new hobby
Since we save time from the usual travel time when going to work, we may now allot it on exploring a new hobby. Some examples would be glam yourself up, do a tiktok video, edit videos, cook different recipes of pasta, bake desserts and other hobbies that will make you productive and happy. It's better if you can find that enjoyable hobby that may also be profitable. Some of those will be vlogging, writing a blog or an article.

 7.  Read a book
Feed your mind by reading a book. It's important to keep not only your body active but also your mind. It is good to read whether it is for entertainment or educational purposes. There's a lot of free e-books online or reading platform like Wattpad that you can access for reading. Sharing with you my quarantine book lists:
- Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker
- The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale
- Why Men Love Bitches by Sherry Argov
- You are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero
- How to YOLO wisely (free e-book by NFG)

8.  Find an online job
If you are too bored this quarantine and you have that interest on earning extra income for additional savings, you may try searching an online job aligned to your existing skill set. Some of the common jobs that can be found online is Virtual Assistant, Transcriptionist, Proofreader, English Tutor and many more. You can also watch Mimi Luarca's vlog on Youtube for more details about homebased jobs. Sharing with you some of the websites where you can apply online jobs:
- onlinejobs.ph
- remotasks.com
- Rev.com
- Appen
- Acadsoc
- Native Camp

9.  Study a new skill
One of the perks of living in this era is that almost everything can be done and found online. Gone are the days that we go to the library to access learning materials. Some of the websites that we can visit to further hone our skills are the following:
- Coursera
- Udemy
- LinkedinLearning
- Spotify Podcasts
It has been declared lately that we are on a state of recession. Recession may result to massive lay-off and we need to be prepared just in case that worst scenario happens. We must find a way to survive as early as now by making ourselves equipped with enough and competitive skills. Skills that the market can still accept and the market is willing to pay for that skill even on a state of recession.

10.  Reassess your goal in life
For sure, due to this pandemic, there are a lot of ruined plans whether for our career or travel plans. It will be quite frustrating that we started 2020 planning our goals with the hope of making ourselves better only to know that we have to cancel some of those. The need to reassess our goal in life arises. Quarantine period allows us to reflect on the goals that we made, if it is really something that we really want to pursue thus, it will lead us to self-discovery.

I know for some of us it will be difficult to be productive as we are going through a phase of pandemic. I want to remind you that

IT IS OKAY IF YOU AREN'T PRODUCTIVE

 TAKE IT  DAY BY DAY

DON'T PRESSURE YOURSELF TOO MUCH

It will be fine to stay still and relax as we have different situations and privilege available on each other's lives. Don't pressure yourself too much. You are human with limited capabilities. You are allowed to rest. What's more important is YOUR LIFE. The cancelled travel plans, the delayed project you've been working for a promotion,  the potential money that you could have earned will eventually be replaced but your life isn't replaceable.

To whoever reading this blog, thanks for spending your time reading this and I hope you and your loved ones will be safe from the virus.

See you on wittymichy's next blog! :D
